Turn on assistant connections

Open Media Mill Settings
Choose Connected Assistants and enable the local connector.

Choose the assistant
Use the Connect or Install control for Codex, Claude Desktop, Cursor, or VS Code. Media Mill provides a command for Claude Code and Gemini CLI.

Confirm in the assistant
Some hosts open their own installation or permission screen before saving the connection.
Supported setup surfaces

Choose permissions per assistant
A new connection can read the Library. Adding links and running Actions or Workflows stays off until you enable it for that assistant. Pause a connection to keep its setup without allowing access, or remove it to revoke the grant.
- Read: search, inspect items, read transcript passages and text outputs, and list Actions or Workflows.
- Add and run: add supported links, run existing Actions or Workflows, cancel work, and respond to Review after an explicit user decision.
Media Mill stays in charge of the files
The connector listens locally and does not turn the Library into a cloud service. Assistants receive bounded content through the MCP tools. Media Mill remains the only writer to Library files and checks identifiers, permissions, operation state, and Review revisions before acting.
