What Media Mill processes on your Mac

Media analysis and AI processing happen on your Mac. Media Mill has no account, telemetry or server-side media pipeline. The network is used only for requested link fetching, model or engine downloads and repair, and signed update checks in a public build.

Work that stays on the Mac

  • Transcription with installed local speech models.
  • AI documents, titles, tags, Edit Plans and timed-text changes with the selected local model.
  • Exact search and meaning-based passage search.
  • Translation with the selected local model.
  • Conversion, cuts, audio cleanup, speed changes, subtitle rendering and audiograms.
  • Library indexing and file storage.

Requests that use the network

  • Fetching a supported web link you add.
  • Downloading or repairing requested transcription models, AI models and media engines.
  • Checking the signed update feed in a verified public build.

What works offline

Already-imported media can be processed after its required models and engines are installed. A web link cannot be fetched offline, a missing dependency cannot download and an update check cannot complete.

Local assistant connections keep a permission boundary

When the connector is enabled, a supported local assistant can use only the grants you choose. The app remains the writer of Library files and the connector does not expose them as a remote cloud Library.
